Ljubinka Kovacevic Mimovic

Artist Ljubinka Kovacevic-Mimovic was born in Belgrade in 1952. She moved to England in 1967 and studied at Starbridge Art College. These formative years had a major impact on her artistic development and she continued to study art at the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade from1973-1978. Ljubunka taught Art in Belgrade for four years, before moving back to London. Starting from a traditional form of painting through years of homage’s to old masters and familiar subject matter she began to depart from the targeted expression of her criteria to a different realm of values.

 Maintaining the criteria only on a subconscious level, her work began to engage in bridging the waves, the spaces and emotions of contemporary and future sensations.
